Special occasions for outstanding Brooklyn style Italian
Delicious across the board dining with an extensive Italian wine list.
Try the vegetable and chips as a precursor to appetizers. -

I was incredibly disappointed by this venerable Italian restaurant. The evening started well enough, but we had a 9:30 reservation. That shouldn't be a problem in NYC, but I have noticed a systemic restaurant problem all over the world concerning late dinner reservations. Management sends the staff home before all the diners have finished eating.
At Fresco by Sotto it was akin to an exodus from the kitchen, as dozens of staff walked through the dining room on their way out and home. A skeleton crew remained with 4 tables still dining. Everything went down hill at 10:00 PM. Our server, who was perfectly nice, forgot my burnt broccoli order. He also needed to be reminded three times about an additional glass of wine. Water glasses went unfilled. The table next to ours sent back a terribly fatty piece of meat because the kitchen staff didn't get another piece of meat to grill. When 90 per cent of the staff has left, it sets a tone in a restaurant that the night is over. Things deteriorate rapidly.
Fresco by Scotto is a very expensive restaurant. Our salads cost $25.00 a piece. Fifty bucks for two salads! My Dover Sole was good, but for $58.00, it better be. Pasta was average, nothing special. We ordered two ricotta cheesecakes, and when the table next to us ordered the same dessert, I realized the server forgot the berries that go with the cheesecake. It was amateurish, especially when you consider the bill came to over $300.00 for two salads, two entrees, two desserts, one glass of wine and one cocktail. The food was mediocre and the service ludicrous, once the kitchen staff was dismissed. Our meals at both Il Gattopardo and Il Tinello were infinitely better and for less money. -

Amazing food, great service in this beautiful classy restaurant!
We had fresh home made Buratta(must try!),Fritto Misto(super fresh) and zucchini chips with Gorgonzola(delicious). One of the best homemade pasta from the menu prepared by the talented chef Alessandro is BLACK INK CHITARRA WITH JUMBO LUMP CRAB MEAT(super delicious!)
Tiramisu I had was fantastic, made to perfection!
Very much recommend it!Manager Ciprian was very professional and he recommended great wine for dinner!

Went to celebrate my husband's birthday and our 32nd anniversary. Very nice service, quiet and pleasant atmosphere. We both had the Branzino and it was delicious. The wine list is very good a well. We will return for sure!

One of midtown's best kept secrets! The best Italian food and service in NYC! I have never been disappointed with a dish from Fresco and the service is outstanding! Everyone I have brought for dinner there has loved it. Amazing food and wine! I've never had anything that I wasn't impressed with. Save room for dessert! Hands down the best tiramisu ever! It tops all tiramisu I had in Italy! A wonderful family owned and run business! Fresco is my go to for Italian food in New York City!
